I really like using Power point in the classroom It stimulates the visual aspect of learning as well as audio. There is so much you can do with i. You can us it to assist lectures, you can create a game that you play as a class.

There are many links out there for educators One I like is http://www.rapides.k12.la.us/VI/PowerPointresources.htm

It has lost of pre-made things you can use in the classroom! I would like to learn about the bookless schools and how to use technology with second graders.

I think I will achieve my future goals by attending school sponsored workshops.
This will be my last post so Bye Bye!

Ethics!!!!! hahaha I love how they included this. Maybe because the company who wrote this book also sells software and they don't want you to "share". Anyway ethics are important with Technology because but the stuff in the chapter is goop! Teacher need to be aware that most students know how to cheat using technology, Text messages, downloading papers or other work You get the picture. I think there should have been a bit on what to do about this and how to prevent it!

I wish I actually "learned" something in this class it could be a very good class but the material is so bad!
I am going to my sister-in laws wedding this weekend Yippie! It will be a great mix of our Irish Catholic drinking side and the grooms evangelical conservative Christian family..... It will be like an eighth grade dance with us by the bar and them on the other side of the room condemning our wicked ways! I can't wait!

Hello Chapter 7 was about evaluating educational Tech and how to integrate it into the classroom. I think integration really depends on the resources available to you as a teacher. Most school districts have a technology person and most school have very limited resources and teachers have to "share" so you have to plan ahead
Since last class I have learned that the way I do things in Excel is not the way SAM want me to do them, however I can get the task done.....just another reason SAM should go away!!
I am getting ready to buy a new car. Mine is starting to fall apart. I am thing about A passat! I Test drove a Pris but it was really small and my husband is 6'9 so I really need a big car! Well Bye now

Hello again! Chapter 6 was well ....it is what it is. I think the the integration of technology into the classroom is great! Kids today are used to HD tv, Xbox and wii. As a teacher it would be very hard to capture and maintain the attention of students without technology. Things such as You tube make it where instead of reading Dr. Kings I have a dream speech to students they can watch Dr. King give! technology is wonderful!

Last class we did wikis. I learned a new web address and um well not much after that. Well I did learn that I don't like working on group projects. It takes so much longer than it would if we were just able to do an individual project. I don't think we get more out of the assignment in a group. I know I will have to work with others in my job but that is my job this is just a class. If the objective is to learn how to use technology group work seems less effective to me but hey that is just my opinion.

Well I have only 2 weeks till my sister-in law's wedding. It is in St. Augustine, I think it might be fun. I am so glad she picked black bridesmaid dresses. I picked out these Very loud barbie pink dresses fro my wedding.... My bridesmaids did not like it but my thoughts were.... they are part of the decorations.. : )

Welcome back to my blog! Chapter 5 was about Digital media and educational software applications . I was most interested in the educational software. I think that alot of the games would be fun for students but we all know the down falls of some educational software......SAM. I think the critical thinking applications would appeal to the age range I may teach in the fall such as the Harry Potter game. I remember the GeoSafari game from when I was in grade school, however it was not on a computer it was a "play computer" Technology has really advanced since then.

I haven't really learned anything since the last class because there was not a last class. I think I will use alot of the educational software that was talked about on pages 299-302. It will help me give those students who finish early something constructive to do. I know that I will be using drill and practice software because I will be teaching 2nd grade and they must learn their math!

Enough about educational technology applications..... I have to start thinking about how I will decorate my classroom. I know some teachers go a bit overboard. Oh well school doesn't start till Aug 20th so I have a while. It is so hot outside. I am glad the classrooms are well air conditioned!! Until Post # 6

Chapter 4 seems much like the other chapters...... but I noticed that it talked about flash memory drives. These things are so handy you can carry your work with you everywhere! It holds alot of information. It talked about input and output devices. a mouse a joystick and other thing that anyone who has a computer already knows about.

I think that most of our course materials are ridiculous. I don't understand why we should read about an input device, such as the keyboard that I am typing on now, or a mouse which I also had to use to even read the instructions to this assignment. SAM doesn't work well and would be put to better use teaching elderly people how to use a computer.

Last class I learned how to .......? um go to class online. Although it is really just like chatting on AIM. It seems that most of the work we do in this class is busy work. However I have learned somethings. I had never used inspiration before and I think that it will be useful. Until next time....

Hello , I just finished looking at chapter 3 and I was looking at the productivity software, which contains word processing software such as Microsoft Word. I use word alot for papers and other documents . Word really does makes people more productive, effective and efficient. Almost everyone in will have to use word at some point in school or in the work force

I have learned how to do things in word that I didn't know how to do before such as the table function. This will be useful in creating worksheets and test for my class. I also learned how to view different tool bars such as the one for creating forms.

I have so much to do this week! I have 2 midterms, a speech presentation, these blogs and other assignments, and A house guest coming. I miss those easy days where I had no homework. Well I just have to make it till Aug 4 Then I am done!!!!!

I found Chapter 2 interesting. I didn't really know how the Internet worked, I just knew how to use it. When I have to search for something I usually use Google.com but it depends on what I am searching for. When I am looking for videos I use Youtube.com. When I am look for journals articles for class research I use Jstor.com. When using Jstor you have have to pay for it but as an FSU student you can log on thought the Library home page! They have many other databases to research things.

I have learned how to blog! I think this is cool. I would like to learn how to use Microsoft excel other than just the basic stuff. I have heard that there is alot you can do with that program.

Oh classmates BTW I found out that the tomahawk bus route stops right in front of the stone Building. I have to take the bus because the class I have before is is on the other side of campus and I only have 15mins to get to this class.
